What's included
- Surface-mounted cable runs along a wall or inside trunking
- Cable runs inside flexible conduit — exposed or set into a wall chase
- Choosing the cable cross-section to match the circuit load
- Running a dedicated line for a specific appliance or point
- Securing the cable and preparing the ends for connection
- Checking the line is intact after installation
When you need this
- A new line is needed for an outlet, light, or panel
- A powerful appliance is being connected on its own dedicated circuit
- The old cable is damaged or the wrong cross-section
- Temporary or surface wiring is needed without chasing
- The run follows chasing, into an already-cut wall channel

Cable and trunking/conduit are billed separately from the labour. The final cost depends on run length, method, and how accessible the route is.
The method used for a cable run is chosen based on where the route goes and how acceptable exposed wiring is in that space. In living areas, cable is usually hidden — in a wall chase, behind trunking, or inside conduit — while in utility, technical, or temporary situations a surface-mounted run is often reasonable and cheaper.
The cable cross-section is matched to the circuit load: lighting and ordinary outlets need one size, while power-hungry appliances like an electric stove or a boiler need another, with some margin. Getting the cross-section wrong eventually leads to the cable overheating, so this is worked out at the estimating stage.
Where wiring is concealed, the cable run is usually done right after chasing — it's easier to keep the whole route, from panel to end point, under control that way.
Completed work carries a warranty of up to 3 years.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a surface-mounted run and one in conduit?
A surface-mounted run fixes the cable or trunking directly to the wall, from 1,500 KZT per metre. A run in conduit protects the cable inside flexible tubing, which can be left exposed or set into a wall chase, from 2,000 KZT per metre. Conduit gives the cable extra mechanical protection.
Does the wall need chasing separately for a cable run?
Only if the cable is being hidden inside the wall. Chasing is a separate service, from 3,000 KZT per metre, billed apart from running the cable itself.
Is the cable included in the price of the run?
No, the cable and trunking or conduit are billed separately from the installation work — the per-metre price is for the labour only.
Which method should I choose — surface-mounted or conduit?
It depends on the room and the stage of renovation: a surface-mounted run in trunking is often convenient when walls are already finished and you'd rather not chase them, while conduit is the standard option for concealed wiring in a chase or under a stretch ceiling. The electrician can advise after seeing the space.
Can a line be run for a specific appliance — a stove, a boiler?
Yes, a dedicated line for a power-hungry appliance is a common part of cable installation. The cable cross-section and the protection device in the panel are chosen to match that appliance's load.
